Joanna Campbell has explored her ideas along with textiles and metals. She has analyzed certain qualities of variety of fabrics such as drape and weight, and imitate them using the material of metal. Since year 2001 , Joanna Campbell started to create contemporary jewellery designs, Joanna Campbell’s creations of her jewellery designs are advance and complex , unique way . Her priority in design is to unleash the potential of metals as if they are in a classic traditional old fashion way , such as lace and crepes . Joanna Campbell loves to explore connections between old metals in fashion design . This is done by her experience during her textile industry as well as becoming a dressmaker for many years.


campbell’s profession is to spontaneously create modern classic jewellery. Joanna constantly draws her insperations and ideas from various textiles and textile techniques such as japan's shibori dying techniques Chantilly Lace , Joanna uses them in a subtle way to create her jewellery.when exploring ideas , Joanna Campbell creates drawings to find inspirations for her jewellery and using her knowledge from her studies from her recent time in the fashion industry. Her pieces are sensitive and timeless. She is known throughout the jewellery industry for using silver and gold like no other. She presses textures onto the surfaces from lace fabric and creates brooches out of fine silk fibres.
Campbell loves exploring her ideas and designs on traditional gold though as well as using the traditional way on making jewellery ? “smiting “ she has explored so many ways in creating and designing jewellery , for example she has designed a ring incorporating a measuring tape. As well as a brooch made out of silk fabric in a form of a poppy

When Joanna became interested in fashion jewellery , she started an employment in the clothing industry for New Zealand "high-end fashion houses" for a number of years before and finished her bachelor's degree in Three-dimension Design from UNITEC in year 2001, majoring in jewellery. after awhile , she has been creating and selling jewellery work for sale and jewellery exhibition. She has always been interested in crafting contemporary jewellery, and found an opportunity to compress the integrity of contemporary jewellery with an aesthetic that would be connected to fashion. She applies her experience and knowledge of clothing and textiles as a constant resource for her practice of jewellery making.


Campbell’s jewellery designs implies to the aesthetic of the dressmaker's "aids, pins, needles, sequins, bugle beads, tape measures, pincushions, elastic and lace trim" . Joanna is interested in the idea of exalting these easily overlooked beyond objects by using their ideas from them into fundamental and wearable jewellery. She has strongly gained interest in the function of jewellery as a complex of whoever weares the jewellery . Her approach in design is firmly grounded in the making process. She starts to become interested in creating beautifully crafted objects that are wearable but also have conceptual depth. And to know how the object feels, how it makes the wearer feel; and this inquisitive desire is at the centre of essential quality on her work.

The quote means that we have a new advance way of seeing our past moments and events, and that photographs can be our way of looking back to past event using this artwork as an example to show an event that happened from past reality to communicate the quote and that this photograph is something I find very interesting, the way the contrast is portrayed, a balance of darkness and light and how the smoke from the cigarette as a effect in the photograph. In the photograph it seems that the man is well taken care of and is in a safe environment.




In the photograph called After War created by Lori Grinker, the main focus of this photograph shows a man smoking and lying down on the bed recovering in the hospital after a battle at war, the veterans Away from a world in conflict t. In this image. .The man with no legs said,” We hit the mines four of us, Chheng told me. I sometimes get confused and think that I have two legs when I realize that I have lost my legs, at first I felt upset. Then I see my friends who also have no legs and I think it is normal" this quote addresses the fact that it is showing how depressing and motion it is to lose legs and feel like a not normal person this photograph shows a relation of family brotherhood, bonding and pain. This image it seems to be in a dark slightly dark room, with a small light aiming at the main focus which is the injured man in a mattress recovering, you see the smoke there is only one area in the room that is smoky.
